Exam outline and official sources
National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS) · Current NCE outline in the NBC-HIS 2026 Candidate Self-Study Guide, opened and reviewed on 2026-10-13. The workbook label 'Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS)' maps to the examination leading to Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences (BC-HIS); it is not the official examination title. The assigned slug is preserved. No separate examination effective date was stated in the opened guide. The prior candidate's January 2026 handbook date and rev. 2024 model designation could not be independently reconfirmed during this repair because the handbook returned retrieval errors.
This original 20-question sample covers selected topics across the outline. It does not reproduce official exam questions or cover every tested topic.
