Exam outline and official sources
American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) · 2023 VTNE Content Outline, approved by the AAVSB Board of Directors in March 2023 and linked from AAVSB's current study page on 2026-10-20. The outline does not state a separate implementation date. Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) is a jurisdictional credential designation; the evidenced national examination mapping is to the VTNE, not a separate national CVT examination. Oregon's board explicitly identifies the VTNE as the national examination for certified technicians.
This original 20-question sample covers selected topics across the outline. It does not reproduce official exam questions or cover every tested topic.
