What to focus on during revision

The following are CertMedbry study suggestions. Use the official outline to check the full scope of your examination.

  • Use the PN test plan to organise Client Needs revision and clinical-judgement practice.
  • For a scenario, identify the relevant cues before selecting an action; explain how you would evaluate the result.
  • Use NCSBN’s official preparation materials to practise item formats and case studies that a simple multiple-choice sample cannot reproduce.

A practical preparation plan

1. Start with the correct test plan

Download the PN plan for your examination date. Review its Client Needs categories and example activities. Confirm your nursing regulatory body’s eligibility requirements and your authorisation to test.

2. Practise explaining a decision

After each sample question, state which detail makes your answer appropriate. For an incorrect answer, decide whether the gap was knowledge, reading the scenario or choosing the priority.

3. Prepare for variable length

Use NCSBN’s official examples to become comfortable with the interface and item formats. During revision, build a sustainable reading pace. The number of items delivered does not itself tell you whether you passed.
